Manufacturing Skills Queensland: Career Pathways VR
We partnered with Manufacturing Skills Queensland (MSQ) to create a series of interactive VR experiences aimed at introducing high school students to real career pathways in the manufacturing industry.
This project was built on strong community collaboration. Through MSQ, we connected with local manufacturing businesses and spoke directly with their young employees to hear how they got started in their careers. Their stories became the foundation for a collection of short VR experiences designed to let students explore key manufacturing roles first-hand—from operating machinery to managing logistics on the factory floor.
By immersing students in realistic workplace environments, the experience helps bridge the gap between classroom learning and real-world opportunities. It’s not just about showing what’s possible—it’s about letting young people step into those possibilities. And by putting real people and real career paths front and centre, the program also fosters a stronger sense of relatability and confidence in students exploring a future in the industry.
Virtual reality has proven to be a powerful way to spark interest and engagement. It removes the abstract nature of career advice and replaces it with active discovery. By offering hands-on insights into local jobs, we’re helping students make more informed decisions about their futures—and helping industry build a pipeline of enthusiastic, capable new talent.
